Line 6 links Municipio with Mostra serving 8 stations. Line 6 is the youngest line of the network: a light metro that links Piazza Municipio with the Fuorigrotta district (Mostra), running along the Chiaia riviera and Mergellina. Closed for over a decade, it fully reopened on 17 July 2024 with the new section to Municipio.

The Municipio station of Line 6, designed by Álvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura, is a genuine archaeological museum: during construction three Roman shipwrecks from the ancient port of Neapolis were unearthed, and some finds are displayed inside the station.
