Getting from Naples airport to the city centre
Naples Capodichino airport (NAP) is one of the closest major-city airports in Europe: just 5 km from the Central Station (Piazza Garibaldi). Reaching the heart of Naples is therefore quick and cheap. The main option is the Alibus, the official ANM shuttle linking the airport to Napoli Centrale and to the port (Molo Beverello) for ferries. Alternatively there are taxis with fixed, regulated flat fares. The new Metro Line 1 airport station is under construction and not yet open (expected late 2026 / early 2027). Does the metro reach Naples airport?
Not yet. In 2026 the Line 1 Airport/Capodichino station is still under construction (over 95% complete by end of 2025). It is expected to open between late 2026 and early 2027 and will connect the airport to Napoli Centrale in about 9 minutes. Until then, the direct public link is the Alibus.
How much is the Alibus and where do I buy the ticket?
The Alibus ticket costs EUR 5 for a single adult journey and is valid for 90 minutes, including onward travel on ANM/UnicoCampania urban transport. Buy it at the machines in the arrivals hall, online on the aeroportodinapoli.it e-shop, or on board. Remember to validate it.
What is the fixed taxi fare from the airport to the centre or the port?
The official predetermined fares (one trip, luggage included) are: Airport → Central Station / historic centre EUR 21; → Molo Beverello / port EUR 24; → seafront/Via Partenope EUR 28.50. Always ask for the 'tariffa predeterminata' before you start and use only official white taxis. There is also a collective taxi at EUR 6 per person on the airport-station-port route.
