How to get to Toledo Station & Via Toledo by metro
Overview
Toledo station is far more than a metro entrance: it is one of the most beautiful stations in the world, internationally awarded and the true symbol of the "Metro dell'Arte". On the way down to the platforms you pass through the "Crater de Luz", the famous light cone clad in thousands of blue mosaic tiles by Bill Bolaños and William Kentridge, evoking a descent from land into the sea. Back at street level you step straight onto Via Toledo, Naples' great pedestrian shopping street and the perfect starting point for the historic centre and the Spanish Quarter.
How to get there
The station is on Line 1 (orange). The artwork is inside the station itself, so there is no walking involved: ride the escalators down to see the Crater de Luz and back up onto Via Toledo. From Piazza Garibaldi (central station) it is only a few stops toward Piscinola-Scampia.
