How much does the Naples Metro cost?
ANM / Unico Campania fares, July 2026. Children under one metre tall travel free when accompanied. A proposal to unify all single rides at €1.50 is under discussion.
ANM or integrated TIC?
Which ticket for which transport?
The ANM ticket (€1.50 metro, €1.30 buses/funiculars) is only valid on ANM services: Line 1, Line 6, buses, trams and the 4 funiculars.
The integrated TIC — Ticket Integrato Campania (€1.70) is valid for 90 minutes on all urban transport in Naples: ANM plus Trenitalia Line 2, the Circumvesuviana, Cumana and Circumflegrea within the urban area. It's the right ticket whenever you switch between operators.
To leave the city (Pompeii, Sorrento, Caserta…) you need the distance-based extra-urban Unico Campania tickets.
Where to buy tickets
Always validate your ticket at the gates or stamping machines: travelling without a valid ticket means a fine on top of the fare.
Discounts and advice
Campania students are entitled to discounted Unico Campania passes; the Region periodically funds free passes for under-26s — check the active schemes on unicocampania.it.
Children under one metre tall travel free with a paying adult. For groups and families the €4.50 day pass is almost always the best value.
If you plan 3 or more rides in a day, the day pass pays off. Note that the hydrofoils to Capri and Ischia are not included in urban tickets.
The €35 ANM monthly pass pays for itself with one return trip a day. Integrated Unico monthly passes exist for those commuting from outside Naples.
